6 signs your job is ruining your mental health - TheJobNetwork
6 signs your job is ruining your mental health - TheJobNetworkFirst and foremost, most of us go to work to make money. Ideally, on top of that, you like what you do. On top of that, there may even be social benefits to going to work every day if you also enjoy being around your co-workers. If your job checks all of those boxes, great If it even checks just one, you might be doing all right. But if you cant think ofone positivething about your current situation, you might need to make changes. Work should not be a place that makes you feel terribleall the time. Yet this is what happens to many people who must endure toxic work situations that are damaging them mentally. If this is happening to you, it is time to find a new job or make strides toward a new situation. Here are six warning signs that its time to make a change. googletag.cmd.push(function() googletag.display(div-gpt-ad-1467144145037-0) ) 1. You cant bring yourself to go to workWhen you wake up in the morning, do you feel as though your limbs weigh 1,000 pounds and you simply cannot pull them out of bed? Does the idea of stepping foot in your office fill you with crushing anxiety, EVERY single day? Do you take days off simply because you cant bring yourself to go into work? These are all great, big, flashing warning signals that something is terribly wrong at work, and its wreaking havoc with your mental health. Sure, for most people its not common to bound out of bed with a huge smile on your face ready to take on the day (how lucky if thats the case), but if work dread plagues you every morning, thats not the norm.2. You can never really leave workIf you have no chance to get out of a non-work mindset, youre not living a balanced life. When youre home with family or friends, do you mucksmuschenstill have your phone connected to work email and attached to your palm so you can deal with clients or co-workers? Are you always on call? Do you not even get to take a break when youre in the office to go for a 15-minute walk to get some lunch or a breath of fresh air? If so, that is not a healthy way to live your life, and you probably need to make some radical changes. Everyone deserves time off, no matter what you do for a living.3. You dont want to socialize at workFrom Monday through Friday, the average adult spends half of his or her waking life at work, so it is vital to get along with the people you spend time around all week, even just on a cordial level. But if things are badeanstalt at work, the idea of talking to or even looking at your co-workers may make you feel sick to your stomach. That is not a good thing, and a very clear indicator that your job is making you deeply unhappy.4. Youre overlooked and ignoredSome people prefer to go under the radar at work, but there is a real downside to always being overlooked or ignored you dont get the accolades for a job well done that you deserve, and you might even get passed over when it comes time to receive raises or promotio ns. Chronically overlooked employees may start to feel like they dont even exist, which can put them into an extremely unhealthy frame of mind. No one wants to feel as if they dont matter.5. Your job fills you with guiltSometimes we dont think about the consequences of a particular job when first accepting it we just need to work, whatever that may be.But if you are working for a company that commits the unconscionableenvironmental damage human rights violations misogynistic, homophobic, or racist practices selling unsafe products treating workers like sub-humans supporting immoral or unethical ideologies lying to the publicsimply going to work may fill you with an awful sense of guilt. If thats the case, it may be time to find another opportunity. We all need to pay the bills, but youll want to remain true to your morals if what your company does is negatively affecting your state of mind. If you cant look yourself in the mirror, your mental health will suffer.6. Your personal life is sufferingA miserable job may make you feel miserable during work hours. A completely unacceptable one will leak into your personal hours. You might get testy with your spouse or kids at home. You might never be in the mood for intimacy. You might spend all your free time sleeping, crying, sulking, or simply thinking about work. If you feel terrible at all times because of your job, there is no question that your job is ruining your mental health and you need to take some positive action.

#MakingTime A Day in the Life of A New York TEDx Producer and Public-Speaking Pro
MakingTime A Day in the Life of A New York TEDx Producer and Public-Speaking Pro Women can do anything but not everything. As the largest online career community for women, we at Fairygodboss realize that balance is a myth, and that picking what to prioritize when everything feels important on a day-to-day basis isnt always easy. In the MakingTime series, women share with us how, for one day, they chose to spend their most precious resurce time.--WhoTricia BroukWhatDirector, Writer, Executive Producer of TEDxLincolnSquare and the NYC Speaker SalonWhereNew York City--4 a.m.This first thing I do every morning is say goodbye to my husband Joe, and hello to my cats, Lola and Bella. Joe leaves the house early and has replaced the horror of an alarm clock with a lovely kiss and a have a great day. I change into my work out clothes and then press the go button on the coffee maker. Joe loads it up for me ahead of time. Its the little things. My brain fires rapidly early morning. Im clear an d productive. Im inspired and awake. Once Ive got my coffee, I open emails. This particular morning I start with emailing the speakers bureaus that will be attending the frage Speaker Salon in New York City. I send them a follow-up email expressing my excitement for their attendance and a PDF of the speakers and their fellow colleagues for the salon. Im a big believer in the personal touch. I want them to know their participation is extremely valued. After my priority emails, I respond to everyone whos emailed me after 5 p.m. from the night before. I have a hard stop at 5 p.m., so I can end the day with my husband.6-630 a.m.I meditate every day in bestellung to allow for the space to accomplish everything I need to but also to allow for the space for patience, compassion and truth. Meditation gives me the space to make better decisions throughout the day about everything.630-640 a.m.I walk to the gym, say hello to Franz at the front desk who always greets me with a welcome back640-8 a.m.I love working out. As a former dancer, Ive always been deeply connected to my body. Working out and being physical is extremely important to me. Its physical mediation for me. I rotate between the elliptical machine, the stairs, recumbent bike and the treadmill. Today is a cardio and weight training day 60 minutes of cardio, 30 on the stairs, 30 on the elliptical, and 30 minutes of dumbbells and abs, followed by a quick stretch. I need to improve on my stretching.8-815 a.m.I walk from 11th avenue and 55th street to 57th and 6th Avenue to my chiropractor. The city has woken up and everyone is commuting. I get to see all the New Yorkers going from home to work, and always get excited that I get to go home to work after my appointment.815 a.m.Dr. Joe gives me an adjustment and Im ready to take on the world. Ive been going to chiropractors, massage therapists, and acupuncturists for my entire life. When you are a professional dancer, the maintenance doesnt stop when you stop danc ing. Its part of your life to always to make sure the aches and pains are handled.830 a.m.I walk back home adding a few more steps to my apple watch. Im not competitive at all, except when it comes to my watch. I love getting tapped, meaning that Ive met or outdone my personal goals.9-10 a.m.I have breakfast, shower, get dressed and prepare for the work day. This includes looking at my to do list, and adding to it. I am a big believer in lists because my brain doesnt have the space for anything extra. If my list of what I need to accomplish is on an external hard drive, my brain functions at a much faster rate.1000 a.m.Today I have a speaker client coming in from Connecticut, so Im working with her in-person. I am a member of the Stage, Directors and Choreographers Union, SDC, so Ill be meeting her in their conference room on 44th Street. It takes me 30 minutes to walk from 57th and 10th to 44th between 8th and 9th, which also gets me some more steps logged. In order to maximize my time, Ill be working at SDC until our appointment at noon.1030 a.m.I posted a link to the application for TEDxPhiladelphia on Facebook this week and it got lots of questions. Since Im launching The Fearless Speaker masterclass in September, I want to create buzz surrounding what it means to fill out a winning application. I do a Facebook Live answering the questions about whether you should apply or have someone nominate you, whether you should apply to several events, and whether you need a completed talk before you apply. If youre wondering if you are totally comfortable talking about yourself, then apply. If you are not, have someone nominate you. You can apply to many, but stick to one idea. And you do not need a completed talk to apply, just your awesome idea.11 a.m.I move to the next item on my list, the Chicago Speaker Salon. The Speaker Salon in New York City has created such buzz on social media people from around the world have reached out about me coming to their cities t o do a salon there. I have salons lined up for Chicago, Austin, San Francisco, Canada and London. Chicago is first on the list, and its in a week, so I email the host from the city to make sure we have everything we need to have a successful event.1130 a.m.Im going to be a featured guest on a new podcast called Smart Women Invest and they want to do a pre-call meeting with me. Being prepared is everything, so I love when people want to hop on a call ahead of time to make sure we all have the information we need to be successful. One tip however, if you are a podcast host or a podcast guest, dont talk about the main points on a pre-call. Save those for the actual show, so they sound fresh and new.12-1 p.m.My client arrives with a new script in hand and I have her read it out loud. I make notes as we go. This is her first draft, from our initial active listening session, where I ask her tons of questions about her idea. During the first session, we uncover many new ways of thinking ab out an idea shes been sitting with for years. This is my favorite part, because I get to reflect back onto my clients the part of the idea they may not have seen, since they are so close to it. Once she gets through the script, I always start with whats great. Then I move into what needs to be worked on. I go through page by page, making notes and pointing out ways of improving. I believe in my clients and their ideas, so its an absolute toxikum to be able to work with people who want to make a difference in the world. We wrap at 1 p.m. and talk about the next steps, which will be putting the puzzle pieces of her script in a different order since right now, for me, its too linear.2 p.m.I hop in a cab from 44th between 8th and 9th to 26th and Park Avenue South and head to the Creative Coalition Speaker Series where Im talking with their summer interns. I arrive to meet Tara, Billy and Opy, the loveliest, most articulate college students. They have their notebooks and their eyes wide open. I believe having a mentor can make the difference in a young persons life. I mentor young people as often as I can, and this day is an opportunity to share as much about my story as I can to hopefully spark a thought that behauptung young interns can hold on to long into their journey of their lives. We talk for an hour and in that time learn about what they are interested in so I can make introductions to people that can potentially continue the lineage of mentorship.300 p.m.I hop in a cab back to my home office on 57th Street and during the ride check my phone for any missed calls or emails that snuck in during the hour I was away from it. The cab ride takes 25 minutes, but because I meditated this morning, it helps me keep from stressing out that Ill only have five minutes to turn on my computer, put in my headset and hop on a Zoom call with my client.330 p.m.Today I have a virtual work session with a client whos rehearsing for TEDxSouthLakeTahoe. Weve been working on her s cript for weeks. Shes the longest running leading lady from the Phantom of the Opera on Broadway and has created a beautiful talk about learning to fall in love with fear. She is the kind of client I love working with because shes doing the work. When I woke up, I logged into our Google doc and saw she made changes from the night before so before she woke up, I made notes for her to work on until we meet up now, in the afternoon. We go through the changes together and get one step closer to having a finished draft. By helping someone turn their idea into a big talk, keynote or TEDx, I get to help them make the world a better place by touching the lives of others. Its the kind of legacy I want to leave in the world.430 p.m.On Monday of this week, I led The Art of the Big Talk workshop in Detroit to a company who is revolutionizing the ways we can recycle batteries to reduce the negative impact on the environment. They have an incredible message on the how and why we need to recycle o ur batteries everything from the double As in our remote controls to the batteries in our computers. Since their message is super important, they asked me to come and help them craft and deliver their talks, so they can be better speakers. I had a follow-up call today with the contact of the event, to see about the next steps with the company.500 p.m.I shut down my computer, put my phone on the charging doc and Joe arrives home. We always sit down at the kitchen table and talk about our day over a vodka martini. Once we catch up, then we turn on The Beat with Ari Melber on MSNBC to stay tuned into whats happening in the world of politics. This always gives us a lot to talk about and laugh about630 p.m.We feed Lola and Bella and then ourselves. Dinner can either be at the table or in the living room depending on how tired we are from the day. Tonight, its dinner and Netflix on the couch.730 p.m.I go to bed between 730 and 8 p.m. every night. And Im not ashamed of it Most people know this about me, so I wont be attending anything during the week that happens after 5 p.m. Every once in while Ill rally and make it to an event, but its rare. And the reason is simple I have a lot to accomplish in the world and I want to be my best. Being my best means getting enough sleep to function at the highest possible level. I take my role in my life very seriously and I want to be a great director, writer, producer, curator, mentor and wife. I know what I need to do to make this possible and I do it.--Interested in contributing to Fairygodboss MakingTime series? Email infofairygodboss.com with MakingTime in the subject line.

How Do I Video InterviewCandidates Changing Careers
How Do I Video InterviewCandidates Changing CareersEvery candidate comes with their own set of unique interviewing challenges. Thats why were tackling how to video interview different types of candidates with this how-to series. Today, well be talking about how to use video interviews to connect with candidates looking to change careers. Just because the candidate is looking to hop onto aleidher career path doesnt mean theyre not the perfect talent for your organization. Many companies will avoid speaking with candidates who are making a career change, but these candidates blazing a new career path might be just what your company needs. Here are a few reasons why your company shouldnt just write off candidates changing careersThey are likely to bring a fresh perspective to your organization. Theyre not mired in the way things are usually done in your industry, so they might have some outside-the-box solutions. They are passionate about their new career. Otherwise, they wouldnt have give n up their former career to start at the bottom in a new one. They go after what they want, even if its difficult. Its not easy to start a new career journey, but these candidates understand being happy and fulfilled at work is worth the inconvenience.Theyre an entry-level steal These candidates can sometimes come with years of work experience, and yet since theyre just starting out in your industry, theyll need to start near the bottom and work their way up. So, you gain an eager worker and someone with experience for the price of an entry-level candidate. Now that youre convinced you shouldnt slam the door on candidates switching career paths, just how can you tell if theyre right for your organization in the video interview? After all, if theyve switched their career path before, whats to stop them switching careers again and leaving your company? Here are a few things you should look for in the video interview when evaluating candidates stepping onto a new career pathWhy Do They Wa nt to Switch? The decision to switch to a new career path is not one most people take lightly. Workers spend years developing their careers and rising up the corporate ladder. All of this goes out the window as soon as you decide to hop on another career path. Like in the board games we used to play as children, starting down a new career path often means going back to the beginning. Find out why your candidate is willing to make this sacrifice in the video interview.Ask why they decided to make the switch and what it is about the company or industry which makes them so sure its the right fit. This is an opportunity to really discover where their passion lies and how much they really understand about your career sector. Maybe they have an idealized version of your industry. Make sure they understand what they would be getting themselves into by taking the job and that they are excited and ready to jump in.What Makes Them Qualified?Just because a candidate is willing to start at the b ottom and work their way up in a new industry doesnt mean they actually have the transferable skills you need to fill your position. Passion and enthusiasm are great, but there has to be a certain amount of workable knowledge to make this candidate a good fit for the job. You dont want to hire a fledgling graphic designer who doesnt know how to use Adobe Photoshop, for instance. In the video interview, make sure the candidate can display the skills you need for the position. Many skills can be taught, especially if the candidate is starting out at the bottom, but there are certainly more than a few things you need an employee to already know. After all, you dont want your workers spending all their free time educating a new team member. How Do They Feel About Starting At The Bottom? Its unlikely your candidate will be able to find a position on the same level as their prior job, especially if theyre committed to switching careers. This means they will not only be taking a cut in respon sibilities and title, but also in pay.Its important to use the video interview to find out just how eager this candidate really is to join your company. Are they willing to take a pay cut to start down their new career path? Have they thought about the implications of making less money? Make sure your candidate has carefully considered the financial repercussions of this change, or they might just switch back to an industry in which they can attain a higher salary.Candidates who are ready for a change of pace in their careers can become eager employees ready to try their hardest to work up a new career ladder. Its important, however, to use the video interview to focus on why theyre making the switch and if they have the relevant skills, so you dont end up with an employee who flies the coop again. What are some ways to evaluate candidates changing careers in the video interview? Scientist created an algorithm for the perfect amount of coffee
Scientist created an algorithm for the perfect amount of coffeeScientist created an algorithm for the perfect amount of coffeeHow much coffee should you have in one day to stay energized without getting the jitters? Discovering this answer can be a process of trial and error for our bodies. For some of us, one cup is enough to energize us, while for others, one cup does not even register as a caffeinated drink. And now, the U.S. Army has an answer. Senior research scientist Jaques Reifman, who works on biotechnology software for the U.S. Army, has discovered the perfect amount of coffee an individual should drink to stay alert based on an algorithm. His research welches recently published in theJournal of Sleep Research. The U.S. Army has found the best caffeine dose to maximize alertnessWhen you are sleep deprived, caffeine can provide a much-needed jolt of energy. Reifman and his collaborators wanted to find out how much caffeine we could safely consume to maximize our performance wh en we are tired. To find the perfect amount of coffee, the researchers tailored caffeine dosages based on the algorithm which took factors, such as the participants sleeping schedule, into account. The result was a highly effective performance enhancer. Through the algorithm, participants could improve their alertness by up to 64%.Our algorithm is the first quantitative tool that provides automated, customized guidance for safe and effective caffeine dosing to maximize alertness at the most needed times during any sleep-loss condition, Reifman told Science Daily.Reifman said that the software is being tested on soldiers in training. Unfortunately, the caffeine-dosage algorithm is not yet publicly available for us civilians to try out. Until then, we will have to play chemist ourselves.

How to Find Legitimate Virtual Jobs in Orlando, and Avoid Scams
How to Find Legitimate Virtual Jobs in Orlando, and Avoid ScamsHow to Find Legitimate Virtual Jobs in Orlando, and Avoid Scams1 CEO Sara Sutton was interviewedabout the scam in a report by WKMG News 6 in Orlando that examined schemes and rip-offs targeting job seekers looking for remote work. Unfortunately, there are untold numbers of scams out there, some mora easy to spot than others. The interview with Sutton focused on a particular scheme has written about beforere-shipping scams.Heres how re-shipping scams work an employer, usually U.S. based, hires you to receive packages, open them and inspect the contents (usually electronic items) to make sure they work, repackage the goods, and ship them to international addresses. These items have usually been purchased with stolen credit cards, and even though your job title might be, say, quality inspector, youre effectively working for a smuggling operation. They find ways to profit, and they are using innocent people to do so, Sutton said of these illegal operations. If youre looking for virtual jobs in Orlando, take steps to protect yourself. Read on for the great tips Sutton offers in the interview, and a few others that will help keep your job search safe. Here are some tips on finding legitimate virtual jobs in Orlando and elsewhere1. Do a web-based search of the company. You have tremendous power at your fingertips with your ability to do your own web research about potential employers. Suttons advice One of my recommendations is always to Google search the name of the company and the type of role youre looking for, along with the word scam. members enjoy access to a database of thousands of jobs, including remote, part-time, and freelance positions, that have been fully verified as legitimate. If youre checking out a company yourself, look at factors like itsBetter Business Bureau rating, as well as whether ithas a physical address.2. Educate yourself. What are some of the fruchtwein common job scams? Its imp ortant to educate yourself and be on the lookout for unscrupulous operators and schemes that might raise red flags for job seekers. You should never have to pay for a job, and if youre searching online, you should become familiar with scam keywordsthat can serve as ample warning to stay away.3. Dont fall for inflated job titles. There are some truly great opportunities for job seekers looking to work from home. That said, there are also tons of of bad actors in the employment sector who work to hook unsuspecting job seekers and entice them to participate in job scams. A Fishy Engineering Innovation
A Fishy Engineering Innovation A Fishy Engineering Innovation Steve Page, founder and general manager of Ocean Farm Technologies, thought of the Aquapod from his days working at Atlantic Salmon of Maine, a fish farming company, as an environmental compliance officer andother ancillary roles. Page, who graduated from Stanford University with a degree in environmental sciences, says he saw an opportunity to improve the engineering behind fishing netsbecause suspended fish pens can get heavy during the lifecycle of a crop of fish and it can, at times, be difficult for people to haul it. I thought it would be easier for this type of activity to expand in the kind of conditions when were not close to shore, he says. He also recognized the environmental benefits of his device, including when it comes to fish feeding. I find the usual fishing has feces build up and deposit in a pile underneath the fish pen, he says. That accumulation of organic matter goes anaerobic and doesnt decompose. It can create a dead zone when youre talking about shallow fish pens.A fully assembled A3600 Aquapod. renommee Ocean Farm Technologies To create the Aquapod sphere shape, the concept he envisioned incorporated geodesic domes. He also thought in terms of modularity in the design of triangular panels that are human scale and can be handled. The Geodesic dome is not strong unless the base of the dome is stabilizedthen the base is very flexible, he says. The entire structure gets incredibly strong. The Aquapods triangular panels are made out of fiberglass and reinforced plastic. The netting is made out of galvanized steel wire, which the Ocean Farm Technologies website says helps with predator issues. Each individual panel is standalone so that these panels are then fastened together, he says. A huge advantage is that the polyethylene is buoyant and the specific gravity is about .91, along with being perfectly balanced with steel wire. Each Aquapod is in a grid, submerged, and we can rota te it in the water remotely. For submersion, the Aquapod is installed in a mooring system with anchors. The company site explains the concept behind the moorings in terms of raising and lowering cages The simplest way to maintain a specific depth is to keep the pod slightly negatively buoyant, so that it hangs lightly from the mooring bridles. Mechanical raising and lowering have specific advantages to decompression-sensitive species. Cod growers realize the advantages of this system over containments that are pneumatically controlled. For species that are not decompression-sensitive, we incorporate specific air chambers for raising and lowering. Feeding is also done differently. Conventional surface pens are fed with a blower system and take pellet-sized feed and put it through a sophisticated blower, Page says. Its put on the surface so fish come to it. Since ours is underwater, we use a system that mixes feed with seawater, then pumps it in as a slurry. The tallest Aquapod deploy ed so far is 72 feet high and Page says theyve built one that is 81 feet high. The 72-foot unit can hold 94 tons of fish, he says. Still, Page sees possible improvements down the line. We think we can make it stronger and lighter through material science research, he says. Were also looking at different fastening systems for the steel net and possibly adding robotics for net cleaning. I think weve improved the process for this industry but theres more work to be done. Eric Butterman is an independent writer. For Further Discussion The Geodesic dome is not strong unless the base of the dome is stabilized- then the base is very flexible. The entire structure gets incredibly strong.Steve Page, founder, Ocean Farm Technologies

13 things that will happen when you level-up as a person
13 things that will happen when you level-up as a person13 things that will happen when you level-up as a personEvery next level of life will demand a different you. - Leonardo DiCaprioAccording to meta-analytic data, confidence isnt what leads to success. Instead, successful behavior is what creates confidence.Unlike dopamine which only lasts short-term, confidence is something you own, once youve earned it. Short-term pleasure and long-term joy are two fundamentally different outcomes.Once youve begun succeeding at any endeavor, youll reach a threshold where you must decide if youre ready to go to the next level. Most people get comfortable at a certain stage because they dont want to absprache with the emotional purging involved in up-leveling.When you decide to up-level and go bigger, your life becomes very difficult for a short period of time. You may have mastered algebra, but now youre in a calculus class and feel completely disoriented.Despite having a firm foundation, you fe el like youre standing on nothing, and that everything around you is falling apart.Have you up-leveled lately? If so, this list of 13 will be familiar.Dont fret, youve been through this before. Youve come this far. Youve battled hard. Youve triumphed. Now things are feeling rough. But it wont be long until you get your stride back. But this time, youll be mora evolved. More able. The stakes will be higher. Youll have mora help and support. Everything will mean more.Heres how youll know if youve recently leveled-up1. Your confidence temporarily dropsIf youre freaked-out, that means youre a professional. - Shane SnowIf youve been successful in the past, and for some reason feel derailed, dont take that as a sign youre on the wrong path.Chances are, youve up-leveled without realizing it. Said Dr. Stephen R. Covey, We control our actions, but the consequences that flow from those actions are controlled by principles. When youve mastered one set of principles, your life will improve. Youll become more competent, successful, and confident. Your interactions with other people will be far deeper and more meaningful. Your social group will shift from people solely interested in entertainment to people interested in solving problems and growth. However, once youve mastered a certain level of principles, youll become aware of and exposed to higher-order principles. Immediately, youll feel like a child again. You dont know how these rules work. Youll begin making mistakes.Your confidence will drop. People will say, You dont seem like yourself.Youll wonder if youll ever be able to feel that saatkorn powerful feeling again. Dont worry, you will.2. Everything will feel like its falling apartJust before author Napoleon Hills greatest success in life, he went through several months of depression.Despite knowing deep within himself what he welches capable of, he became paralyzed and incapable. He was at rock bottom. His life, finances, and relationships began falling apart.Once th e pain became severe enough, something happened. A switch flipped. He snapped. In his own words, I was seized upon by my Other self which had zero fear, was completely clear, and operated with definiteness of purpose. With this immediate clarity, he was able to get direct insights about how to achieve his goals. But this acceleration and advancement came after several months of failure, defeat, confusion, and depression. He had up-leveled and was facing bigger challenges and responsibilities than he ever had before. Said historian Will Durant, I think the ability of the average man could be doubled if it were demanded, if the situation demanded. It took a while for him to adapt to the higher-order demands of his new situation. But adapt he did. And adapt you will. You havent yet risen as high as youre about to because youve never been demanded as much as you are now.Theres a fear of success lurking within you. Youre not sure if you really want to keep ascending. But you already know within yourself that you will. Youre resolved. Its done. You know its happening. Youre being pulled.3. Youll begin to question yourself and your goalsIn the midst of your confusion and lack of performance - as your world is seemingly falling apart - youll begin to question yourself and the path youre on.First, your life isnt really falling apart. Its better now than its ever been before. Youre living at a much higher and more powerful level than ever before. Youre just adjusting to what that means. Youll rise up.But in the meantime, youll question. Clarity will lack. Youll be surrounded by fog. Youll feel disoriented. Its during these moments that youll need to stick to your core practices for clarity. Youll need to deepen your learning, deepen your meditations/prayer. Even still, for a period of time, the clarity that once seemed to have an infinite flow will feel dried-up.It will be very disheartening.4. Youll feel alone even among close friendsDespite developing deeper and bett er relationships - youll feel alone. The alone time you need is necessary. At the same time, though, you need to maintain connection.Youre as sick as youre secrets.Isolation wont help you get where you need to go. The more successful you become, the more connected youll need to be. If you become isolated, and stay isolated, youll lose your mind. In that case, everything will permanently come crashing down. In the words of Greg McKeown, your success will become a catalyst for failure. So, take the time you need to get clarity. But be even more vulnerable and honest now with your inner circle. You need them now more than ever. This doesnt mean you wont feel alone. You absolutely will feel alone. But just like the lack of confidence, this feeling will shortly go away. Youre growing and be purged.Youll soon see the people in your life with more love and gratitude than ever before. Your humility for all they do for you will peak. Your joy for the little things will surmount any achieveme nt or goal you desire.5. Youll feel numb to what used to inspire youFor a time, youll feel totally disconnected with your passion, craft, and mission.
